Early Life
Suryakumar Ashok Yadav was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra on 14th September 1990. He first began playing cricket at a young age, developing his skills rapidly and establishing himself as a consistent performer.
Career Beginnings
Yadav started showing his prowess in the world of cricket when he played for his school team and later for his college. His ability to hit big shots made him an attractive player for the senior club-level teams in Mumbai.
In 2010, he made it into the Mumbai Under-22 side before making his first-class debut against Delhi during the 2010-2011 Indian domestic season. Subsequently, he became one of the mainstays of the Mumbai Ranji team which subsequently led to consistent seasons with them.
IPL Career
In February 2014, he got picked by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) where he spent four productive years. Later in January 2018, he joined Mumbai Indians strengthen their middle order batting. Since then, his performances in the IPL have consistently improved, turning out to be key matches winner by delivering stunning performances even under pressure situations.
Turning Point
The year 2020 proved pivotal for Suryakumar’s career as he amassed over 480 runs at an extraordinary strike rate during that year’s IPL season which not only helped Mumbai Indians clinch title but boosted him towards joining elite list of players scoring highest annual IPL scores accumulating close to international call up recognition.
International Cricket
After years of consistent performance across domestic and IPL leagues, Suryakumar received his maiden national call-up in March 2021 for India’s T20I Series against England where he stole the limelight with his dazzling performances, particularly scoring a superb half-century in only his second match. His fearless batting approach and ability to regularly find gaps amidst packed cricketing positions diversely enriched Indian middle order position capacitated for perfect chases.

Yadav is widely revered for his aggressive playing style which constantly puts opposition under pressure.
