Early Life
Joe Root, born on 30th December 1990 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. He is an English cricketer and the current captain of the England Test team. Root was introduced to cricket at a young age by his father Matt Root, who used to play for Nottinghamshire.
Career Beginning
In July 2009, he made his debut for Yorkshire Second XI against Derbyshire at Abbeydale Park. After several impressive performances, Root earned himself a place on the first eleven as an opening batsman alongside Adam Lyth. In September 2011, Joe signed a three-year contract with Yorkshire,
Rise to Prominence
Root enjoyed numerous successes early in his career which led to him being named the Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack’s “Cricketer of the Year” in 2014. Personal Life
Jow Root married Carrie Cotterell in December 2016. They have two children together, Alfred William and Isabella. In addition to cricket, Joe Root has shown a keen interest in football, supporting Sheffield United FC.
